I tried to stay away from classic burlesque names that were too fluffy.....mitsy bitsy, sugar de blah blah blah
Originally my first routine (that turne dout to be too expensive) was going to involve and rocking horse and be based on the the nursery rhyme. and Banbury Cross was born.... and its unusual enough that people remember it!
once I found it that was it!
I did play around with Russian sounding names in the very begining: katya chocolatovic or some rubbish....
:-Dhttp://www.missbanburycross.com - "Banbury Cross seems pretty untouchable in the world of burlesque at the moment! Looks like Marilyn Monroe, body from outer space!”

I thought I had posted this before but can't find it!
I wanted something unique, exotic but also sweet...
I picked Giza because I do belly dance as well as burlesque and wanted a name like "Little Egypt. Giza sounded feminine, cute and seemed really recognizable though some people have no idea how to say it still! I get "Jeez-ah" but later found out Giza is a nickname for the name Giselle which may be why people say it that way. Funny enough we also had a Giselle in our troupe for a while - a red head also and everyone got us confused.
I picked Sangria as I do different types of latin dance as well and wanted a nod to that. I love wine and thought Sangria sounded flirty and sweet!
Plus the combination of the 2 names is pretty fun to say! My name has served me well thus far and everyone seems to remember it. Yay!

Hi there!
Amba - First letters of first and last name. Diahann as a tribute to my Aunt and also, I was a big fan of the actress Diahann Carroll when I was younger. Plus, all my mates call me 'AM' in email correspondence citing it is too long to type my full name!
