Go for it. Gaga is fiiiiiiierce. Though i can't really imagine a fan dance to it...but hell, try it, mix it up, if it doesn't work then it's not the end of the world.
Though there are purists who will frown upon it there are lots of dancers dance to modern music. Myself included.

Go for it - after all, it's *your* act. Don't be overly concerned about upsetting anyone/organiser with your choice of music, it would get awfully dull if all acts were to the same rigid template, because no-one wanted to offend. Things need to evolve.
If it works, then go with it. Good luck.

The wonderful thing about burlesque is that there are no rules... The fact that you're desperate to dance to it despite what others might think is a really, really good sign in my opinion

I often for the hell of it in my room create fan dances and isis acts to random pop music - its helped me create uniquie movements to put into my more traditional acts. and plus it's fun excersise!
This week I have been creating this hip hop meets burlesque isis act to Chipmunk - diamond rings. This one I have actually been strangely tempted to make into an actual act.....
Lady Gaga is actually another of my random dancinf to faves along with Dizzee Rascal, Little boots, Basement Jaxx and loads of other random music!Hettie Heartache - www.hettieheartache.co.uk ~ www.facebook.com/hettieheartache

Go for it!
The fan dance I do is to a song called "Dirty" by Christina Aguilera!
I also recently performed at a goth/heavy metal gig to a song by White Zombie

I never think twice about using modern music now... I've never received a complaint in the past...
Admittedly, I think it is more tricky to use modern music - "retro" music immediately supports a "retro" way of styling oneself (costume AND movement). If using modern music, one must consider aspects such as styling a little more thoroughly in order to create a strong act.
(sorry - fast reply - feel free to ask questions if you need clarity!)
