Thread: New member - Where to go

Hello everyone,

We are new to the site but long time admirers of all things vintage and burlesque.
We are in Lancashire and really find if hard to see any Burlesque events advertised in our area which is one of the reasons we decided to join up and ask other members where we can go to see some quality shows in the North West.

Hopefully someone will have an answer for us

Firstly - welcome

there's a burlesque scene section, which has listings on what's going in in each place geographically!
Also - there's a MOB calendar! So you can see what has been submitted, via that!

Good luck in finding somewhere in which to attend!

Im on the boarder myself and i dont mind travel so i tend to stray over into yorkshire and greater manchester to.

Manchester - Slippery Belle, monthly at bookbinders.
Whim Wham - Charlies Bar
Carnival Divinealso returns this year, they also do nights in Chester.
Your best bet is to pop into kiku and other alt shops in the northern quater
Theres always some rockabilly,psychobilly,vinatge tease going on.

Mancs based performers include, - Ivy Wilde,Ginger La Rouge, Bella Beasame,Lola Pops,Glorian Grey,Violet Va Voom,Cherry Scorne,
Little Miss Tokoyo,Lethal Gem,Scarlet O hara.

Ashton Under Lyne - Candyshack

Preston - Willow Blue is based in Blackburn and hoasts the Kissy Katt which is also at Bolton. Preston also gets variety acts at the hall and is the home of May Hemm.

Burnley - Skipton Sweet Burlesque, my night.

Rawtenstall - Ladywildflowers domain.

Hebden Bridge - Twinkle Fontanas night Hello Sailor

Huddersfield - Daisy cutters Peepsville, Peacock Loungue

Lancaster - Braizen Immodesty - Sparkle Loungue

As heather says, I am indeed based in Preston, and to be fair we do have a bit of a growing scene up here!

I have performed at Brazens night a few times and its very intimate but very good!

Heather's night in Burnley is great! Fab acts and a fab venue! (with free parking right outside the club!)

Hope to meet you out and about!

Having DJ'd at or attended all of these events in recent years, & having worked with all the listed performers, I thoroughly recommend all of the above both professionally & personally Hope to see y'all at a show soon. MW x

PS there's also Rockers England on Oldham Street, an awesome 50's style clothing & accessories store, a regular haunt of mine

They're all far too lovely up there... It makes me jealous that I live so far away
