Red face iPod and MP3 player users be warned....

    Hi all,

This thread has been created to warn both male and female users of ipods and MP3 players.

All too often I have seen the vulnerability of people enjoying their personal music choices completely oblivious to the world surrounding them.

I'm not just refering to being so completely enclosed in their own little music bubble that they do not even notice the car or lorry that is about to run them over. I'm refering to those people that are so completely unaware of their suurounding environment that they are oblivious to those that would seek out and attack any form of vulnerability or opportunity.

Too many times I've accidentally startled a person waiting at a road crossing because they have been 'plugged in' and neither seen or heard me approaching and its only when I stand next to them or run past them that they jump out of their skin because somebody has seemingly appeared from nowhere.

For your own sake stop listening to music when you're walking through the streets. Take the plugs out of your ears and keep on eye out for potential threats. Look around you, look up ahead, avoid areas of bush or darkness and always try to walk via main roads where at least there will be some traffic. Stay sharp and use all of your senses and trust your instincts.

An ex of mine was walking to the bus after work in broad daylight and a scum bag stepped out of a shop doorway, punched her in the face, knocked her to the floor and stole her handbag.

I don't want any of my beautiful burly friends being mugged or attacked so unplug and stay safe and maybe Silver will sleep better tonight.

    Sincerely,

    Silver x

Hi Silver, I used to be a serial ipod listener but a few months ago I had to stay at work late and had my ipod in and realised someone was behind me.
Although nothing happened it made me realise how vunerable it makes you and I was actually quite scared! So I shall second your suggestion! xxx

To be honest Em, if you were on your way back from Candy Box, what you were wearing would scare off any mugger long before they heard your music!! x
