Exclamation Will this show cause me to have bad luck?

Im trying to plan a new show where I come out as a bride who gets stood up on her wedding day. I hear its bad luck to wear a wedding dress before you get married. Does it count if its for a performance? Should I chance it?

As long as it isn't green and doesn't have an opal in it.
( gee i a welth of superstition and bull shit )

I've been in theatre for years and never heard it's bad luck to wear a wedding dress.
Spilling your make-up or pulling a thread of your costume however is bad mojo.

Fifi La Bomb (or is she Fifi Darling now?) does a very similar routine so she may be able to tell you if she gets any bad luck whilst performing it ^_^

What's wrong with opals? I love opals! Plus I used to know a bit about meanings of precious stones and stuff, and I remember that opals are good for raising confidence and self-esteem - so I wore one for ages during my shy teenage years!

My mum told me to beware of pearls, because pearls are for tears.

Apparently you shouldn't wear an opal unless it's your birth stone.

Stuff that, I'll stick to my completely unjustified superstition on that count ^_^

I do shy away from white roses and lilies though, they signify death and funerals. I do like the supposed language of roses - red for true love, pink for romance, orange for friendship, yellow for a relationship that's ending - so I'm fussy about the flowers I'm given!

I used to work as a florist and when it came to Valenitines day and men (or women!) came in asking for a bouquet of yellow roses I always tried my hardest to talk them out of it! No matter how much their partner liked them

Yeah - when I was in Uni (in Lancashire, that's important) a lad from Yorkshire wrote an article in the magazine saying he'd rather give white roses for Valentine's day rather than the Lancastrian symbol. My housemate (from Bradford) agreed and said that that's what he'd do from now on. I think I talked him out of it!

Being a Heather i really should know the flower codes.
( not to self google )

I did get given a bunch of yellow roses from an x via stage door once.

I didn't know it ment an end of relationship.

I thought red was passion, pink was love, yellow friendship.

either way it was nice to get roses as aposed to carnations ( ick )

    But not yellow,

I'd have been much happier with a bouquet with a couple of pink gerbera in.

come to think of it he was training to be a gerdener so he should have known. :-(

I love lilies - I've got a vase full of tiger lilies at the moment and they smell wonderful! I had no idea they signified death and funerals though and am sure a friend has lilies in her wedding bouquet...

Going back to wearing a wedding dress for a performance - don't lots of Hollywood actresses do this? Maybe there's something you need to do in the dressing room before you go on stage - like whistle the wedding march backwards...dunno!
