I think you will struggle to find one that cheap. I got one about a year ago, think its 10ply and cost about £120. So expensive, but so so beautiful! I'll keep my eyes peeled, what colour u looking for?

One must remember that 6 ply boa is made of layers of 3 feathers (each with two sets of fronds, hence 6ply) chemically treated to soften them and then strung together. For that reason you're unlikely to find boa cheaper that the cost of the feathers required to make it.
2 meters of boa will contain around 24 feathers - enough to make a small set of feather fans!

yikes!
I need white really - I was going to try and make some tribute fans that cost less - looks like they really do cost as much to make as they are sold for on ostriches.
we'll see what my guys in China come up with ;-)http://www.missbanburycross.com - "Banbury Cross seems pretty untouchable in the world of burlesque at the moment! Looks like Marilyn Monroe, body from outer space!”

I recenty made a pair of tribute fans.
I was trying to get the staves for less than the £180 charged by ostrichesonline... And despite asking 3 different acrylic cutters in London for bespoke staves, no-one could beat that price.
As for boa, my supplies cost around £550. I made sure to invest in high-quality feathers as, in my opinion, if you're going all-out with a pair of tribute fans, they've gotta look the part. High quality fans need high-quality feathers.

I was looking for info about making tribute feather fans so thanks for the help ladies (I really don't have $2000 to buy a pair!)
I have some pale blue ostrich boas ready to go but haven't gotten staves yet or started construction. Before I do does anyone have any tips on making them or things not to do???
