    Default Is my fan a lefty or a righty??

    Hi there!
    I have aquired some lovely new fans, but i simply don't know how to tell which is for the left, and which is for the right??

    It probably sounds like a realllyyy easy question..... but i just cant figure it out.

    with mine i can usually tell when i have a good waft!....reherse your routine with them, if it feels uncomfortable swap hands and try again, thats what i do xx

    Had mine in the wrong hands for ages before realising how easy the were to keep open in the other hands. I use my thumb against the end stave to keep them open so its the end stave closest to my hand that I know by.

    It depends how you hold them.

    If you hold them, like me, with your thumb on the "good side" on the fan, and your fingers on the bad side...

    ...then your thumb should sit at the TOP (when the fans are lying flat on the floor, good side up) of the stack of staves, with your little finger on the BOTTOM of the stack of staves. The muscles in your palm can then be used to keep the fan held open.
