Another YouTube related question
Dear all,
Following my thread titled "To YouTube or not to YouTube?":
Thank you Joanie Rose, CountessB, Audrey Hepkat and Brighton Photographic - I appreciate what you wrote.
Your feedbacks have helped me hone my questions a bit more:
1. What is your opinion regarding posting an edited showreel VS posting an unedited entire act from beginning to end? (Audrey has already addressed this).
2. As being a Burlesque performer isn't my "day job" (Do I dare wish "yet"? : ) ), how potentially "dangerous" (regular-career-wise) do you think such a posting in YouTube is? I will obviously post this under my stage name, but you can't miss it's me if you know me....... How have you more experienced performers handled this?
Thank you!!!!

1. I would think that a promotional showreel should give snapshots of various acts/performances to showcase various skills/talents etc
2. I am not a performer so have no experience of this, but I am always shocked and astounded that employers/colleagues sometimes take issue with what an employee does in their spare time. Surely if whatever the nature of the outside work activity does not bring the employer's name into disrepute then it should have no bearing on the day job. I gather it does ... maybe I am just luck with my workplace; my boss wouldn't think twice about it. And if any of our staff did something like this and he became difficult about it, then I would firmly put him right! He knows who the "real" boss is .... tee hee hee.
Hope that helps?
