any singers?
Hi i am a newbie,
I am a vocalist from hants i usually sing under the pseudonym "Elsie Vaughn for a show i put together called once upon a time its all songs of yesteryear everything from jazz standards war sing-alongs swing and ragtime etc...
i studied musical theatre for 2 years and professionally belly danced
i recently performed at a vaudevillian style music hall event, where there where of course some classic style burlesque performers... i sang a set and also took part in a burlesque act with a friend but it was more comedy than strip tease ...
i have a few body hang ups since having my daughter (18 months)my body has changed a lot but nothing i can't get over with the right lingerie
I would absolutely love to add a burlesque element to my singing and wanted to know if any of you are doing it whether there is an audience for it and any advice really also i am a big girl now (18) so what do people think of the name ?(madeline mortaluv )WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Hi Madeline,
There a lot of Singers in the Burlesque world. How did oyu want to incorporate singing into your acts? The lovely Coco Malone, sings and performs Burlesque as well.
As far as I'm aware she keeps her singing separate to her acts. There is definitely audience for this sort of thing. I recommend going to see as many shows as you can, and Watching Youtube, its a very useful way of gauging what sort thing is out there, and get feel for your personal likes dislikes.
Btw the name sounds really good

on the circuit, check out -
dolores delight, coco malone, bella von kiss and em brulee.
those girls are amazing for your jazz standards and cabaret type thiiings.
however, other singers of a different variety in the uk cabaret circuit would be...
dusty limits, mr meredith, laurie hagen, tricity vogue, lady carol, earl okin, sarah louise young, des o'connor, mr b the gentlemen rhymer... and er... so many more!
but research those. and see what you think.

Ooh, I did a gig on the bill with Lady Carol a couple of years back. Her performance was enchanting.
