Tiara is my real name so I respond to it anyway, and usually I am the only Merch Girl around - unless I happen to be at a band's gig where they likely already have a merch girl!

What's been a challenge is getting people NOT to call me by my real name! I usually know a lot of people in the audience and even though I've been doing burlesque for over a year, it's not uncommon for someone to yell "YEAH, REAL NAME!!!!" which doesn't help when trying to maintain my anonymity!

Of course. It would be rude not to respond to a person citing Kittie rather than Kirsty, just because I am 'out of office hours' surely?
It was my decision to have a stage name, I can't now pick and chose when others can use it to refer to me or call my attention. Besides most people are introduced to me by that name so it'd be odd for them (and a bit overly familiar) to use any other.

I even have nicknames and my 'stage name' shortened now! Quite often I will receive a text message from a friend starting "Hey Pesk"
I don't think I even register the difference now!
I do so adore my Peski though, and its pretty unique
Keep it magical

I'm another of those people who use both real and stage name...
I know a few people on the burly scene from my "real life" as it were, so again, my real name isn't exactly secret. At burlesque nights I find that it tends to be a mixture of being called by my real name, Tiger or Miss Tiger. I've had tiger related nicknames/online names for years, so it hasn't been too hard getting used to that.

i dont have trouble responding to my stage name, but what more so confusing is i now have a nickname "FEVVERS!!!" said in a butch footy hooligan sort of voice, but it kinda suits my persona, so i find it quite funny,
what funny is people at work call me fevvers! and they havent even seen me perform they just know i do it,
the the possitive side Penny Feathers or "FEVVVVVVERSSSS!" is easier to remember than my vanilla name, "Tarina" altho alot of people have suggested i should have kept my vanilla name into my stage name ...
hehe
LOVE FEVVVERS!!!!Miss Penny Feathers, the sweetest chick east side of yorkshire!!!

I have a couple of friends who called me Kari long before I started burlesque, as it is an abbreviation of my real name, but it was the minority.
I generally tell people my real name first. I don't mind if people use it but I haven't got to the stage where so many people call me Kari that if I hear someone shouting it I will always realise and turn round. I've not responded before, and found out later and felt bad.
