Thread: Australian Burlesque Festival 2011

hello darlings,

Firstly can I just say how excited I am to be performing in Australia this year for the festival.

I am going to be performing at the following events:
I got my Australia tour dates in!

Shows
27th May (Sydney): The Big Tease
3rd June(Tasmania): The Big Tease
4th June (Canberra): The Big Tease
11th June (Melbourne):Cabaret Carnivale
12th June (Melbourne): The Big Tease

But was actually wondering if anyone else is going/performing as it would be delightful to meet up with you all.

Plus any shopping hints when I am there?

I will also be in Darwin after 13th June to visit my folks.

I'm sooooo excited that you're coming to Australia!!! But more especially to Tasmania (my home state) as the burlesque revival has only really taken off in the past three years or so. Will definitely be coming along to watch regardless of state of my application

Melbourne certainly the best for shopping in my humble opinion. Probably folks from there will have more and better advice, but when I visit I like to shop in Brunswick St or Smith St - about 10 min tram ride from the city centre. Lots of vintage, second hand and designer.

If you're looking for things to buy in Tasmania, Salamanca market and the adjacent Salamanca square, if you are there on a Saturday morning ( a bit touristy but still good browsing). In Barrack St (still in the CBD but a little out from the main shopping zone - which I should say isn't much!), Carat Zoo do great accessories and Hello Gorgeous has cheap vintage and second hand clothing.

Will do indeed! We shall be treading the boards with you in Hobart but also travelling to Melbourne for the main leg of the festival xx

You will be just amazing! They'll love your energy and fire! Miss Glory Pearl is also performing out there too, I think you probably know her already though? Anyway, best of British luck - go kick some ass!
