Default Future of Street Performance in Covent Garden

Okay it's not strictly burlesque but since we're all caring sharing and generally shiny people I though we could help with some signeratures...

If you have ever enjoyed the entertainment at Covent Garden please take a moment to sign this petition. The management have given 17 days notice until new rules are imposed that will reduce the amount of street arts and music in Covent Garden. I truly believe this would be a sad thing to see as I know so many performers whose ambitions include performing there.

Please sign here, it would be much appreciated

That's terrible! I used to go to Uni at King's College just 2 mins away from Covent Garden and would spend long afternoons avoiding lectures and watching the performers. I think that it's also probably one of my earliest memories of London as a child going up to covent garden and seeing the human statues.
Make sure you sign, everyone! Free theatre is a pretty special thing and the performers really need our support!

thanks so much everyone... like dashwood said it is a childhood memory and i feel a cultural icon of London and the UK

everyone has an opinion on living statues good or bad and i imagine most of those opinions were made in Covent garden or at the Edinburgh festival!

some of the artists that are threatened are world class in their field and to have an open stage... where the pay is the most and honest and fair in the world - you pay what you think the performer deserves - is vital
