Calling all creatives in the world of Burlesuque!!
Hiya all,
I'm asking for help to all on here for some research. I'm hoping someone on this broad network may help me speak to any costume, prop and set maker-designers, or if anybody would be able to bring be backstage to one of their performances or to a bar/club so I can absorb the space and understand the environment much more clearly.
I'm currently working on a project which has led me to design the interior, props, costumes and literature of a hypothetical club/bar, which I've decided is going to be a Burlesque bar. With an arabian twist. This project is hugely important to me and I intend to create one costume [be it for the headline act or for a waitress... But knowing me I'll end up doing both], posters, drink menus and flyers, and a set-like taste of what the setting inside the bar would be.
Even a suggestion of books, materials, places... all would be of help. I am based in Ware, just north of London, so London and Hertford-area would be the places I'd be looking to visit.
I am relying on your kind hearts to help me out here... I'm too poor an art student to offer money, but I may be able to make pasties for you in future, lend a hand at some performance and/or become a kind and loyal friend lol.
My email is edibah@live.com, if you're interested.WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread
