I'm Ashleigh, I'm also from Glasgow (lots of Glaswegians on here!) and I'm hoping to become a performer, I already go to shows a lot of the time, and I do pole-dancing too. Unfortunately I work at sea some of the year so I don't get as much time to get into burlesque as I'd like!

Hi Fabuloso
There are a lot of workshops in Glasgow at the moment, so it can be tricky to choose! I'd definitely recommend the classes run by Gypsy Charms at Dance House; Gypsy is a trained, professional dancer with many years experience on the burlesque stage and she also holds a PHD in stripping! You don't find teachers much more qualified than that! I first started out in her classes almost 6 years ago, just doing it for fun and I had a blast
whether you're looking for a bit of fun or socialising, or you wish to consider performing yourself in the future, this is an excellent place to start.
Unfortunately there are many workshops offered at the moment run by performers who've only been performing for a few months or so and only have limited experience themselves, so beware of these!
Good luck with your classes, whatever you choose!

Absolute Newbie!
Hi All
I am brand new to this.
I was wondering if there are any burlesque classes in Hertfordshire area? Stevenage or there abouts.
I am a very creative person, literally bursting with ideas.
Please could someone give me advice how to get into burlesque?
I have seen it many times and taken part (although only on hen nights).
If I could do one act, it would be a dream come true.
Thanks in advance x

I'm Ainslie and I'm a burlesque dancer in Australia with a troupe called The Bad Ladies. I came across Ministry of Burlesque in a web search and looking through the threads on here there is a wealth of information and I'm looking forward to contributing what I can (I'm still very new to burlesque) and learning from you all

I'm a newbie too! I began my burlesque life in October 2011. I've performed in four shows since and I've got a bust schedule coming up this year. Yay! I'm so happy to be apart of the burlesque community and look forward to sharing ideas and inspiration with you all!

Hey there! I go by the performance name of Lady Dolore. Dolore means "pain" in Italian.
I have been doing burlesque for at least two years so far. I am in a troupe (really a variety act) called, Nuclear Bombshells, which is post-apocalyptic. I also am a part of a show called Circe Du Macabre.
I am self-taught, but have been meaning to take some classes anyway to support the whole scene here. I incorporate magic and sideshow tricks in my acts, as well as a bit of acting.

Hi,
I'm a relative newcomer to the burlesque world. I've been interested in a long time but now I'd love to learn how to perform. I know of a few courses here in Bournemouth, but does anyone have any recommendations?
Happy twirling
