Post Club Tromolo Glasgow Wed 9th April & touring

    Hi everyone

***Wednesday 9th April at Glasgow's Classic Grand: Club Tromolo***

Slightly OT as it's not quite burlesque, but it might push your buttons even if it doesn't float your boat. Glasgow's off-beat wonky cabaret night is touring Scotland this month under the auspices of the Scottish Arts Council's Tune Up Tour (which takes live music all round the strangest bits of Scotland).

Club Tromolo is hosted by Macclesfield's own Frank Percy (OBE) and includes an hour and a bit of wonky cabaret featuring: Fairpak Convention; Jazzbadger (he's a badger, and he plays jazz); Sir Clifton Sainsbury (trombone playing toff); the Govan Seer (have your fortune told by a psychic ned*); Miss Leggy Pee and Charlie (who's developed incontinence just in time for lots of long bus journeys) and free tat dispensed to early doors punters with no good humour by my good self, Deirdre the usherette.

Folliwing the cabaret, the headline act of the evening are A Band Called Quinn, with their unique electro-femme-pop sound. According to The Scotland On Sunday they might be "Glasgow's greatest band". I tend to agree, even though I'm somewhat biased.

The tour starts with launch night and the release of ABCQ's album 'Sun, Moon, Stars' at Classic Grand, Jamaica St, Glasgow. Doors 8.30pm, Cabaret at 9pm. £5. Turn up early for the best choice of free tat ! The show then hits the road to a number of bizarre and out of the ordinary remote Scottish venues. If you fancy a trip to Shetland, Pm me!

    See you there!

    Deirdre

That looks most fab Miss Usherette -- a veritable potpourri of talents pushing all the right buttons.
`Sun, Moon, Stars' ---- thats where this shows reaching for.

Unfortunately unable to attend ----- Matron has confiscated my passport (tis required for entry into Scotchland I believe ??).
Hope to see you soon ---- these window-bars can't contain me forever.

Good to see Sir Clifton Sainsbury is still blowing trombone ---- always a useful addition on the tour bus.

Lots of Love to Miss Leggy Pee --- though may I suggest she drops the Morrissey-stylie "Meat is Murder" medley from the Shetland Isles setlist ??

You don't frighten me Miss Usherette ---- I detect a cutesy poppet beneath that Tourette's-languaged & knuckleduster-tooled-up veneer.
May I call you Deirdre ?

Please tell us how the tour develops.
    Till then ----- byeze bye

It's certainly handy for giving the driver a swift "BAAAAAAARP" dunt to the back of the head should he fall asleep at the wheel!

Ah, yes, that may well be a good idea, though the easy-listening duet to Ace Of Spades MUST stay!

You may call me ..... anytime! though whether I'll actually answer the phone is anyone's guess.

    Dearset Miss Usherette Deirdre,
We shall be together soon -------- I'm saving the gold lame' number to WOW the next Parole Board review.
I long for the slap of your knuckleduster-gloved hand as I rustle my toffee wrappers provocatively.

Have a fab time at the launch show this wednesday.
Please tell us how the tour develops.

    Best Regards
