Better to be shorter than too long and losing the audiences attention xxx

Leave them wanting more honey. I have acts just over 2 mins and ones up to 5. To be honest if you don't have big props I think over 5 can be to long but that might be just me.

length of act.
I would suggest just on five minutes long.A two minute act will be too short and hold little interest.Any longer then five minutes will make an auidience nervious and restless. Two minutes is okay if you appear a character actor in a film but for a stage performance its not suitable.

A lot of the old rhythm and blues and bump and grind tracks that I perform to were really short but too wonderful to not use so I simply looped them! Voila! x

I think it depends on what sort of act you're doing-if it's classic striptease, two mins might be ok, but if it's an act telling a joke, or a story, or creating a character, I'd say its not enough time to do that effectively. I find about three mins is good. I've seen some acts that are about eight minutes long! One word-boring. Unless they're very original and creative. Maybe you could find another track that you could add on to it?

I saw an act that only lasted 40 seconds-a minute once and it was good. Nothing fancy, she just came on, did a cute dance, stripped and left, to some twenties jazz. If you like your act try it out on an audience... then you can decide afterwards if you need to make it longer by their reaction.

That's what I mean, if it's purely classic striptease then short is good, especially for the tease factor. Cherry's right about trying it out on an audience first, it really is the only way to know if an act works, and their opinion is the most important, so if it only lasts for the blink of an eye but they've really enjoyed it, then it's a success!
