Yay Plumbing!
Just back from 9 days camping in Wales for the Hay fetival. Lot's of fun but god I love plumbing. Walls that don't move. The concept of being able to dress standing up.

The thing I hate about camping is how it's SO SO cold at night, so you wrap up all warm... Wake up feeling like you are being cooked but with your face pressed up against a cold wet piece of fabric.
And how my hair is always a mess

What makes it worse is seeing all the polished London media people wandering around. Nothing to make you feel even more grungy then seeing people swarming around looking absolutely fabulous.
But I was working it so at least I had hot food and drink and somewhere to shelter from the rain. And I wasn't paying ridiculous amounts like the polished people :-)

Camping it up
I camped in Wales at Easter and our tent almost blew away, everyone else were in caravans and look great and we didn't sleep or eat properly and there wasn't even a mirror (probably for the best really)
Bet you looked great !!!

bless you sweetie but I spent a lot of the time in a much too big fluorescent jacket with mud up to my knees. Great no - but had a lot more fun then if I'd been cursing getting mud on my pretty clothes. And after watching one of the london people fall over and get covered in mud (After climbing a muddy hill in high heels) I felt a hell of a lot better about my wellies.
Although refuse to look at newspaper photos just in case I'm in the background somewhere looking like grotbags :-)

I LOVE camping! And we now even have a tent you can stand up in (huge 8 man thing), but I always seem to look more of a state than everyone else. You just feel dirty til you get home, even when you've just got out of the shower
We did our first bout of early season camping this year though in March and oh my it was cold. Had a huge stack of sleeping bags with us, and had both kids in bed in tracksuits, hats, etc. It was pretty funny but think we might leave it til later in the year from now on

I think I'm forever scarred regarding camping - I've only done it once, went down to the beach with a few friends and just camped there, on the sand...and it was freeeezing and humid and I swear the tent was wet or something. O.o And...oh my god, I wanted to pee, and... ;_; *weeps*

Wow - camping with kids? God you're brave. Could just about cope with myself :-) And even that was a close run thing :-)
