BBC1 - The Slammer - Edd Muir NOW WITH VIDEO!
Okay so this should be in performer appearences but we're just so giggly about it I wanted to pop it in here
So... my Edd's performing Chinese Pole on CCBC's The Slammer today; it's a variety show for kids and to be honest probably the only variety show on TV today that celebrates talent for what it is. Entertainment not a fast route to becoming a zelebrity.
If you're about do have a watch, but in the meantime I'd like to know if people miss variety shows on tv... i certainly do

Aha I'm not all ashamed to say I'd have been watching this today anyway. For the very reasons you state I have my little ones into watching this and they love it. There have been some fantastic acts on there
Go Edd, Go Edd! (Does he win his freedom?:-) )

My brother is completly addicted to it and doesn't normally approve of my career choice (he's an IT bigwig) but his eyes actually widened when we told him!

Watch the acrobats clapometer score before they somersault and then after.... big stinkin cheats!!!

Kittie (who had the hiccups throughout the duration of the programme) and I were wondering if Waterman uses real water or fake showbiz prop water in his act.
I think Edd's act might have been a bit avant-garde for the majority of the ten year old audience! One wonders if he would have scored higher if he wore some shellsuit bottoms and a hoody.
On a slightly different note, when did John Craven stop presenting Newsround? You can now add video to your forum signatures by

I've just had to explain to my five year old and his friend that mummy doesn't actually have a friend called Edd who's now stuck in prison! They both said he was the best :-)

Awww missed it! I quite like The Slammer - some of the 'storyline' I could do without, but the acts are usually fantastic. I may have to iplayer this!

thanks guys!! haha midnight thats brilliant!
we had to be really carefull telling edd's little nieces and nephews about it without ruining the story!
he's been asked back so going to create an act with pop music, bright clothes and possibly a hoody ha!
it's a bit of an insult to artistic integrity but think of the kiddies and their little happy smiley faces
i'm just looking forward to teaching youth circus tomorrow cos they already think edd's the coolest person in the world!
