Thread: Getting jobs!!!

hey ladies, Ive always had a keen interest in burlesque, i know quite a bit about it, and have some ideas for an act (still needs a lot of work), but i wanted to know how i can get my act shown.....and where to start obviously im new to performance and would appreciate any suggestions ~Ruby sparks~ x

You could try Whoopee's Tournament of Tease which gives newcomers the opportunity to showcase their act and debut at the Bethnal Green Working Men's Club on the first Thursday of the month (however I think they may be breaking up for the summer though). After each act you are critiqued by three Judges who offer suggestions and encouragement. Its a fun experience and evening.

There are actually lots of places that you can debut your act. But as a promoter who recieves dozens of emails every month looking to braek into performing - make sure that your act has been honed and is ready to go before you look for bookings. There are too many people trying to get gigs who haven't yet honed their performance. if you're going to try to make it; try to be the best.
