40's / 50's music for £1 in Tesco
After another weekend with gigs on Friday and Saturday... stumbling around Tesco's today, suddenly I noticed a display box with 'CD's for £1' all over it.
Closer inspection revealed them to be single CD's from 'The Collection', basically they are 'Greatest Hits' of the artist in question.
Artists such as... (I came out with...) Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong, Doris Day, Judy Garland, Peggy Lee...
also they had Mario Lanza, Frank Sinatra (& Rat Pack), Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves, Nat King Cole, Perry Como and a few more that I can't remember (hey, I've done 20 hours DJing this weekend!).
Worth a look if you're in there.

It certainly is, thanks for the tip.
Here's a classic oldie, not sure if it is 50's or 60's,
just can't be arsed to look it up. But it's a wonderful
antidote to a, wet, miserable, pissy-arse english summer's Sunday.

Stranger On The Shore was 1962, for the TV series of the same name...
I have that already, on an excellent 1997 double CD compilation from the ITV Series 'Heartbeat' - 'Love Me Tender' was all the 60's love songs from the series.
