Eek!
I have my first performance in a week or so and I'm really starting to get nervous about it.
I was wondering what people remembered of thier "first times" (juvenile giggle) and any really good or really cringy moments along the way - it'll make me feel better

Where are you performing Dani?
The Russian Doll Lass - like Shrek's onion, but with sequins...

The crowds at events are really supportive and very nice, as long as you have practised your act and you know that it is a good act. you will be fine.

I did my first performance at the back end of last year at the Met Bar in London at the MoB Movers & Shakers - clearly enjoyed it as I haven't stopped.
Tell us more - where are you performing, what sort of act are you doing, what's your costume like?
Use your nerves - that's my advice.

In my opinion nerves are good, I get really nervous beforehand. But thats jsut cos I enjoy it so much and it means a lot to me. If I didn't get nervous I'd be very worried.

I have to go and meet the lady first on tuesday so she can make sure my act's ok - that'd be the worst, showing up with a completely inappropriate act or the same music as another act
aaagh!
Hopefully if all goes well on tuesday It'll be in Southport on thursday night and my costume is a waitress outfit - basically a bored waitress drinking all the drinks and getting tipsy and taking all her clothes off
lol. The music is 9 to 5 by Kiki Danielson.
I don't usually get nervous coz I'm trained in musical theatre and I've been in a band for 2 years and I don't get nervous for that - it's a 10peice soul band so if I mess up theres 9 other people who can cover up a hitch - oh, and I'm fully clothed for the whole gig mostly. But this is so exposed (in more ways than one!) lol *Nouveau Showgirl

Good luck!
My Dad lives very close to Southport, it's a shame I can't go and stay with him or I would come along
I'm sure it will all go fine thoughSnowflakes and Sparkles

Good luck honey, you'll be absolutely fine. I was on a high after my first performance. It was very nerve wracking though as I was on first as well.
