Video uploading help?
I've just taken a look at a video of one of my performances, and, unusually, I love it! I want to upload it onto my myspace page, but it's not loading. It's currently in an IFO file, a format which I have no knowledge of, and I need it to be mpeg, mp4, or similar, apparently, in order for it to upload. Now I'm OK with computers, but I'm not great. But my OH is pretty good and in an hour or so he'll be able to help me out, so if anyone's got any advice please let me know, whether it's simple or advanced!

You could upload it to youtube and then put it on myspace that way.
Not sure if this is of any help.x

Is the youtube upload process different from the myspace one? Won't the file need to be video format in either case?
Where are Miss Carrie and Diva when you need them? ^_^

Hi Fleur,
As far as I know, .ifo files don't actually contain any audio or video themselves as such - they are more like an instruction sheet telling your computer where on a dvd the audio and video is, to play it back.
I'm guessing the video of your performance was on a DVD from a camcorder of some form? In which case, you need a program which can take the dvd and make a .mpg, .avi (or similar) file. A free DVD ripper which fits the bill is Download Free DVD Ripper - Freeware Download List - your OH may have some luck with it if it's too complicated, but from a quick look at the program you need to just pop the dvd in, point the program to the dvd using the 'Open DVD' button (or possibly point it to the .ifo with the "ifo" button), tell it where you want to put the resulting file with the "Output" button and hit 'start encoding'.
Of course, all completely irrelevent if it's not a dvd you've been given...

You have no idea how long he spent on that reply!
I really hope for his sake that it is a dvd.
