Thread: NEW SITE FEATURE: Add Music To Your Profile

I've just added a new feature which lets you add an MP3 to your MoB profile. For a demo, click here.

To add your own MP3, simply follow these easy instructions:

1. In the 'Member Control Panel' link in the top menu, click the 'Edit Your Details' link.
2. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page until you see the 'My Music' box (see screenshot 1).
3. Type in the EXACT address of your MP3 file - eg http://www.yoursite.com/music/mytune.mp3
4. Hit the 'Save Your Changes' button.
5. Go to your profile page - and easy way to do this is to click on your username in the menu bar.
6. If you've done things correctly, you will see a music player on your page (see screenshot 2).

Either I'm a stupid witch or you are winding me up.
Here's what I did:
Googled Candyman in MP3, cut and pasted the URL in the appropiate box, went to my profile,
clicked on the music. Zilch!
You love teasing me, don't you James?
I bet you say to Kittie:
"This will get the Witch going!"

Check your profile page hon. I haven't waited long enough to see what song is playing but there is a little play button with 'buffering' going on

Thanks for that darling, my music is still buffering away, quite happily, but it ain't playing anything. It's just the computer whizz, having a laugh, he knows that witches and computers are not compatible.

Is mine playing anything? I thought I'd have a go just to check it wasn't the witchy going mad, then Rob reminded me the speakers weren't working!

Damnit - yes your's is working.
Mine must have been invaded my gremlins (either that or I just can't follow instructions....)

As its reading from where the music is hosted that'll make a difference, ie. mine's hosted on my site which I know runs quite quickly. Don't know about elsewhere

I just didn't understand it full stop so didn't even try.

I'm useless with computers

I promise James' instructions do make sense, and its pretty easy to do. The important bit is finding the song you want to use online. You need the full web address, with .mp3 at the end, then just paste it in the new box in your profile edit page and away you go!

But how do you find the song online?
