Default Pointe Work Class - London

    Hi,

Would anyone like to join me for a pointe work class? There are 2 at Danceworks in London. One on a Tuesday night and the other on a Sunday afternoon.

You can be a beginner or an improver.

Can you learn how to do pointe work as an adult, or do you really have to have learnt as a child? I'd love to learn and can stand in fetish ballet shoes and walk in hobbles, think i could learn?

It's actually healthier to learn as an adult, as there is less risk of damaging growing bones. My first teacher was started to early and was a bit deformed...

hmm I've never had any dance training either, that might be my biggest downfall! Although at least I know there's a hope of me learning one day though. Thanks alot!

Oh - I never knew that. I always ruled out ballet classes as an adult cause I thought you had to learn from a young age. Hmmmmm maybe I might take another look at doing something about it......

Vicki, I will drop you a PM in a minute.

I learnt ballet as a child then gave up :-( Was told by my Mum that I was to old to start again but carried on with tap and modern instead. Then at 21 I found an adult ballet basic class. Within a few weeks I was invited to join the elementary adult class then invited to start pointe. I have been doing it off and on now for 12 years and love it.

If you want to start pointe at some stage and have no ballet experience I would recommend that you start going to a few basic ballet classes to build up your strength and knowledge. If you are in London and fancy going let me know as I do a few basic classes a week.

    Miss Diamond Blush.
