Actually I got to bed before midnight for the first time in ages. I still think that I take the insomnia crown because (as far as I know) I'm the only one who has been to hospital due to insomnia related exhaustion (back in 2000)!
Whose the insomnia daddy!

You win, but I can give you a run for your money ...
I never have enough sleep because it takes me so long to get there in the first place! When I was at school, uni and short-lived day jobs it was horrible, because there were nights I didn't sleep at all, and nights when I had about 4 hours sleep. I went to a doctor and asked for help, and he gave me sleeping pills. They didn't work. I took a night job to see if it would help. Now I am officially nocturnal and actually cannot sleep when it is dark outside. I tried to get an early night last night (around 3am) and couldn't sleep. I usually go to bed at 7:30am due to the job, but I've been doing that so long my body won't sleep until 8am!
And stupid o'clock is officially 4am, because it's stupid to still be awake then, stupid to be waking up then, and all the night workers start to get stupid then ...

I had insomnia constantly since i was 15 years old. I very rarely sleep for longer than 3 hours.
I was hopitalized in 1992 and put on bed rest for two weeks, I still did'nt sleep though so they gave up and set me home with sleeping pills that I refused to take as I did not want to become addicted.
So I guess that makes me the insomnia Mommy
Mobfather people make talk!

Sleeping pills are strange things. I got prescribed them at the age of 18 and never finished the packet after I woke up one day, covered from head to toe in mud with no idea how it got there.
Now sleeping pills just give me chronic hiccups which, in turn make me even more awake than ever. I remember flying to Thailand a few years ago with uber-hiccups for the entire 12 hour flight. The supposedly pacifist Buddhist monk that was sitting next to me looked like he wanted to kick the crap out of me!
:BLACKEYE:
That's the time I wake up whether I've had lots of sleep or none whatsoever. It's especially annoying at the weekend when I try in vain to have a nice lie-in. It's extra annoying for Kittie whose weekend lie-ins are often ruined by me pottering about the house.
Anyway, having said all that, I'm now going to bed!
