24 hours in manchester - what to do?
Just found out I'm going to be in Manchester on Sunday night and Monday day time - I've always wanted to go but have never been. Does anyone have any suggestions for fun places to go? Any shops selling burlesque clothing? Cool cafes, galleries, boutiques etc?
x

Hi honey
are you in a car? there is a great haberdashery you might like but its a bit out of the town center but very easy to find. All round the Northern quarter are great cool shops and cafes. The Lowery is pretty cool, the green room for alternative shows not sure what is on exhibition wise. If you come down to Liverpool the Tuner art prize is on at the Tate and we have lots to see and me and Millie can take you out for coffee and cake.

Lol I've been wondering the same thing for my whole 5 years here....
As mentioned there is the Northern Quarter home to Afflecks palace - and on the 3rd floor of that sits Vintage to Fetish although there's plenty more to browse around. Cafes such as POP underneath the retro clothes store on Oldham Road, and for going out Tiger lounge in St. Peters square or Fab Cafe (although I think Sundays are just film night there) Canal street is worth a visit, anything goes! Oh and if u are down there say hi to the doorlady on AXM, that's my g/f and she's been to the beginners burly class with me so u'll have a little common ground! Plus, she very much likes my bustle
lol
Whatever you do I hope u have a great time here

It's everything alternative and made up of lots of little shops, tattooists, hair shops, metal, industrial, kitch, vintage, fetish, randomness....
IT's off picadilly gardens so if u find Debenhams on Market st, it's the road between that and the Halifax. U'll pass a big tacky hotel called Sachas then u just follow all mini moshers
