    Default Petrol?

When performing - how much do you charge for petrol? (I know there was a thread months ago but wasn't sure what is the current rate after all the petrol hikes).
Was it something like 20p a mile?

i think last i heard it was recommended 37p per mile but it all depends on your car

why not fill up, note how many miles it takes to empty it then divide to work it out??

however i don't drive so all this advice could be rubbish

    xx

Just did a little sum and i shall be as brief as i can but if your car will do 35mpg say and you filled up with 20litres where fuel was £1.10 per litre this should give just under 5gals of fuel which should take you 171miles or thereabouts which should work out at 13p per mile on fuel!!!
Then you have to factor in wear and tear on the vehicle plus your time, plus parking maybe???
Kinda depends on a lot of variables.
I know im a bit of an anorak and should get out more!!

Last time I checked you could claim 40p per mile if you're self employed - for your tax return.

You cant really demand a certain fee from promoters tho - all promoters are different.

Some will pay you nicely, some will poo in your hands...

Ummm. If you're employed but have got to the point where you are being paid gigs......how does this work tax wise? (I know I should have asked this before but I think I've been putting it off due to fear it would turn out horrendously complicated)

yup, the inland revenue will pay out 40p per mile for the first 10,000 miles. after that it goes down to something like 37p.
