    Default Hi I'm new *waves*

    Hello
    I thought I should introduce myself rather than just lurking about voyeuristically (though that can be fun ). I landed here looking for a dress of all things, though I have visited before without joining.
    I unfortunately haven't seen any burlesque/burlesque-style work in a long time, but am hoping I will persuade my husband that we really need to go see some (I don't mind sitting alone in a theatre but in a pub/small performance space I don't want be the nelly-no-mates audience member!)
    I'm really interested in female driven performance, and music hall/vaudeville kind of thing (sorry "thing" is my all purpose replacement word). Though I don't have any great desire to perform myself (despite performance being what I did at college).

    Hi Chaos Kitty, welcome to the fold.

    You're perfectly perched geographically for a load of wonderful burlesque venues - check out the events tab at the top of the page to find some or visit www.shakeitdoll.com where you can search for events by area.

    If you search in the fashion and make-up forum (again find link from top navigation bar) you'll also find loads of threads where people are recommending great retro or vintage websites or shops so you can find your dress.

    And hey, once you've been here a bit you'll realise that was no way near a stupidly long message!

    Oooh welcome welcome. I also love all things vaudeville, music all, cabaret, burly, etc, etc If its performance, in your face and/or glittery, I'm there :-)
