How many gigs this year?
To go along with the "Who's an Actual Performer?" thread:
Was chatting with Daiquiri Dusk a couple of nights ago and she's a really busy bee and hasn't stopped this year. So combined with my other thread on who performs (professionally or not):
-How many gigs have each of you performed at this year so far?
(for the sake of clarity - just like IMDB - you had to have been credited for your appearance)
As of 06/11/08 I'm sitting at 54 so far this year with two more this weekend and bookings right through to Christmas. 8 of these were unpaid (Edinburgh Fringe guest spots). I also had a couple of gigs where I was pretty ambient and didn't get introduced or credited.WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Could you clarfiy what you mean by 'credited'? Do you mean that you were introduced to the stage by the comper, or that your name was published on flyer/other publicity material?

According to my records I've done 18 this year, including the show I put on myself, and one appearance as a stage manager. This includes my May/June/July hiatus when I was waiting for and then recovering from my operation, so it's not too bad, I think. Before May I was doing one a month, and then after the op they got more frequent until they clustered all around Hallowe'en. Most were paid, but I did two charity gigs, a 'skills swap' deal, and gave profits from my night to the performers (I broke even, just about!).

Ooh, this is fun! I always mean to keep track but don't so this was a good excuse to count!!
As of tonight, I will have performed 101 public shows and 32 private events/invite only events/launches this year!
Phew! No wonder I'm a bit tired!

Specifically that you were on stage as a performer in your own right! You don't have to have been listed on the publicity but it'd be best if you were a booked performer for that gig (rather than tagging along and appearing on stage just to fill it or being a cigarette girl or getiing on stage for a dance around at the end of the gig or being stage manager or a backstage crewmember- I actually know people who've put these happenings on their CVs as performance bookings!)

Only three, I think. I tend to forget things a lot, so forgive me if I've forgotten something. I was working in a day job that took up 60+ hours a week (once you include travel time, but not including sleepless nights) so I pretty much gave up performing during that.

That's pretty cheeky! I don't think i could be so brazen!
So, since this time last year... i'm getting my diary out...
By my count I make it 30 shows since this time last year, three shows booked for november and then i'm taking december off. I really admire the performers who do a show every week (or even more) - even if i were that in demand i'm not sure i could muster the stamina!
I have to say though... i have always found myself curious about how many shows people rack up in a year... i'm an inherent nosey neighbour!

Wow its mad when you add it all up I have done 80 performances this year mostly club with about 15 of those private parties, weddings ect.
I have also done a three day mermaid installation which I devised and installed in the art space were I was credited in the program for the festival under Diva Hollywood.
I have also been in a film total sifi flick B movie that took 10 days to film.
I have bookings for a further 8 gigs with a possible 4 penciled in just waiting to hear. Also three more Photo shoots this year just started to get back into doing these.
I did take a lot of August off as I had a commission to make the mermaid act and also the Black Swan burlesque piece.
I have also had lots of time off in October as I have been away in Devon on a two day prop making workshop, to make a new prop/ puppet for next year. I am going to do the Mob's advanced fan workshop and I am also on a hair and beauty workshop as I think you can never have to much knowledge.
I have made and performed three new acts this year. Have two more on the way for Christmas and have three in the prep stage for next year.
I already have six confirmed bookings for next year.
Maybe I did tick the wrong box as I as I have only been performing for three years and full time for the last year and a half. But I have been an artist for 17 years making film, animation, prints and performance.
I love what I do and will keep making art in some shape or form till I have made everything I want to make which may take another 150 years lol

Sorry Rufus, a bit off-topic I know... but you have typo and it's really bothering me! It should be "Who's" and I can't let you leave it like that. You can slag me off for being a pedant tomorrow, but you unfortunately have to be nice to me today!
But just to join in the topic and to make it look less like I'm hijacking a thread because I'm mental...
I have performed at... *counts on fingers* Oooh 0 gigs this year. Yes.
