Hi Rashida! I am new to the site too, so you're not alone. It's a lovely community, I think you'll enjoy it.
I like your avatar too, I can see an interesting tattoo.
Instead of creating another thread I will introduce myself here as well, as I have been lurking and procrastinating about it for a while.
I'm Madison, I used to be a model but I quit so I could study Ancient Egyptian history. I have several shoots booked for the new year though, as I have now decided as I enjoy both, lets try both!
I love burlesque (obviously), vintage fashion and pin-up images, and have two adorable Kitty cats: Seb (siamese) and Lucius (1/2 siamese, 1/2 black and white). I also have an interest in traditional far eastern cultures, and other periods of history, even if they aren't ancient!
Take care all,
MR xx

And welcome to the forums Madison. I am a wee bit into the Eastern side of the world as well. I do Chinese Brush painting as a "hobby" and, I love all things Chinese.

Sounds interesting. You could do a photoshoot based around Egyptian religion/mythology
I was really into anything involving Egypt when I was really young. Just starting to look back into it as I'm attempting to make a painting based around the idea of the 'ka'.
Edit: Sorry...hello to the original poster, too!

Thank you
That sounds like fun. I'm have to admit I have never tried Chinese brush painting, though I adore oriental art and have a scroll in my room that my partner's parents brought back from Shanghai. It is very beautiful. Apart from their history (as I am a history nut) I have to say their food is amazing. I learned to make sushi, and can just about cook an authentic chinese meal from scratch. I used to cheat and use ready made sauces, but recently I have made time to learn to make it all.
I also started to train in Korean Kickboxing but can't afford the club anymore as I moved away and it would cost me a lot to travel to it!
Having said all this though...I have never been to that side of the world. But I will do as soon as I can. Have you been?

I did do one once...not sure where the images are now. Egyptian mythology is such a big topic, there is so much you could use. And the Ka is a complicated concept, good luck! If you need any articles or anything give me a shout and I'll see what I can find in the old archive!

Thanks!
It's a half-formed idea at the minute, but I do have a very basic sketch. It's not going to look like a traditional Egyptian image or anything like that, more my own interpretation of the idea.
