    Default Quick & Dirty

I'd like to start going along to burlesque events and take photos. I like to capture movement rather than taking posed or staged pictures, just black & white with an old manual SLR in available light. Verite, documentary, quick & dirty

So how do people feel about having their photo taken when you're getting dressed up, or when you're performing on stage, or simply simply sloshing around the club with your mates?

Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with it, I look better in grainy black and white anyway!!!!! But I'm sure not everyone would appreciate it. Maybe it's best to ask for general permission from the event promoters, performers etc first and offer them copies of your pics. I'm sure you would need peoples permission if you were going to use the piccies for anything. But I'm no expert so hopefully you will get some good answers to your question on this thread.

We've had a few photographers wanting to take backstage photographs at the Silk Stocking Struptease Show - we have always allowed this practice on the condition that all performers and staff are asked for their consent first. We also ask our photographers to respect the privacy of all talent and staff, failure to adhere to that rule would have grave consequences.

Unfortunately we don't have any space for additional photographers.
