how many names did you go through to find the 'one'?
there are always new people coming on asking for help with creating their burlesque name and it got me wondering how long it took others to find there name and how many they considered before finding the name that summed them or the type of routines they want to do up perfectly.
i have never had another name but not long after i chose it i did think about changing it to either Opal Opulence (birthstone) or Dirty Trixx but, they didn't really seem to 'fit' me although i do think dirty trixx is cute if not totally original (but neither is kittie noir tbh!)
so what about you lot? did you stick with the first name that popped in to your head or did you have 20 odd name changes?! xWARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

I have a wiccan name, which you can see whenever I post anything off photobucket.
Burlesque performer is not me, so I just went for something that I knew nobody would use or copy. It had to have a witch connotation, you lot turned Broomstick Pilot into Broomy, and although it's silly, I sort of like the single handle, oops, good pun that.
I wonder what new members think when they see the name?
Broomy? Is that the janitor or what?

I just had the one before December Charm, and even that had Charm at the end. I thought of the first one on the bus and the second walking home from work... back when I did that working thing

Well, the thing is, I've been 'Miss Demeanour' on a number of other fora since 2002, and is a name that people (esp Bikers) IRL know me by, in preference to my real name. (I get Christmas cards to 'Miss D/Miss Demeanour'!) I ony didn't sign up as that on here because there on Scarlet's programme there was a performer called Miss Demeanour D'Amour, and didn't want to cause any confusion, or awkwardly tread on any other toes. I do appreciate professional reputations, and I didn't know who posted here, under which name.
But have been scouring the net of late, and havn't found any recent professional references - do you think I could claim that name, on this forum at least? It has sentimental value? :worried:

Jings - going back about 8 years here... before MoB was even christened as Ministry of Burlesque!
Kitten De Winter
Kittie De Winter
Kittie Klaw (the pun swayed me)
- and now also 'Kitty De Winter-Fairbotham' (a character from our Victorian Values project)
I have named other performers in the past too - God, I love names with puns.

I've been Rhea Fox since before I knew what burlesque was.
When I was a kid and someone told me to work out your porn star name you took your first pets name and the first street you lived on. Mine was Rhea Fox, which I thought was brilliant. A few years later I got interested in burlesque and its as if my name and persona were already there in my head just waiting for the rest of me to catch up =)
