Master and Slave
I may be completely overreacting, and I probably am. But I was just this morning asked if I wanted to model for a fetish pin-up site, the conversation quickly slid from there to whether I wanted to act as master for the photographers fantasy (possibly paid! eek I'm not a pro!) with me repeating a number of times that I had a boyfriend, and no I was not comfortable with that.
Once I stated catagorically that the conversation was making me really uncomfortable they apologised but now I feel like I just walked into that and should have known better. I suppose it's fairly unavoidable when you're looking for work in burlesque that occasionally people will test you out.
Has anyone had any similar experiences while looking for work that they would share so I don't feel like such a world-class idiot!WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Oh man that's really bad. That's right! You should only have to say no once dammit! I'm really open minded but when people push you when you're uncomfortable it just leaves you feeling a little wierd. Thanks for sharing, at least I'm not the only one to be put in an uncomfortable position.

You're not the only one darling. There are plenty of lovely people out there who love fetishes of various kinds and various scenes but who truly believe that anything has to consensual and that no means no (or if a safe word is used, that means no)......but in every group and community there are seedy people who get in because they think you're up for whatever THEY want just because you're not sitting at home doing the knitting.
Please don't feel bad or silly, this doesn't reflect on you in the slightest, there are creeps out there. The Russian Doll Lass - like Shrek's onion, but with sequins...

As with all things in these days of the internet, a bit of work on Google with thier names will show them for what they are. Have a good look at the web site they say they are from.
They could be totally up front and are indeed looking for a lass to be a kindova "Burlesque Domme". If you do follow things up make sure you get a contract with EXACTLY what they want typed up with get out clauses and SAFE WORDS included.
For those who do not know, at all times in BDSM/Fetish when it is done properly, the use of a safe word is paramount, this safe word is used by the slave/maid etc when he/she has had enough or the Dom/Domme goes a wee bit to far. Say the safe word and everything stops cold there and then.

Thanks guys, I probably just need to wise up a little. It's definitly got me thinking that I need to be more careful about picking up work. While I'm blithely thinking pin-up photography or burlesque night, they could well be thinking private show!

I think you may have to deal with this a fair amount unfortunately - there are always people out there who think burlesque = take clothes off for money = whore
Hopefully it hasn't put you off photoshoots - just of this particular photographer!

No it hasn't put me off photo shoots at all, and thankfully I didn't go to this photoshoot!
The problem is that most of the work is advertised through the internet and in particular through networking on facebook and myspace. I just have to remember to check on google if they've got a proper studio. It's just a timely reminder that everyone on the net isn't as safe and lovely as the MOBers!

Was this on facebook by anychance,
ive blocked the guy now his name is Melvin Sherriff.
I only added him as he was mancs based and had yourself and anna and a few others as contacts.
He emailed me saying he was making a fetish websites and would i be able to help him.
Said it wasn't my fortay but gave him a couple of clubs and magazines i know would cater to his particular fetish.
Then got a im from him asking this slave mistress buisness.
Saying he would pay for the privalage.
Prick, who the f does he think he is. Ive been tolerant of your braisen question and answred you nicely, now f- off.
Some people are just to stupid to spit on..... even if your suposedly getting paid for it.
