Thread: Imelda May V's Pinky and Perky

I need some clarification here, my friend just text me saying that he heard the baseline of Johnny Got A Boom Boom advertising Pinky and Perky on CBBC, is this true, I've not seen it??

Hmmmm, not heard the Pinky & Perky thing - hope it doesn't ruin a great song.
Can't wait to see her at the Glee Club on 3rd of March.

Yeah, the opening of Johnny Got A Boom Boom is played on a loop (without vocals) as the background music in the advert for Pinky & Perky. I saw it today and was a little taken aback myself!!

I seriously hope someone we know gets some very nice royalties for that.... or has a very good lawyer....

Ummm..okay. Well I know FOR A FACT that Al doesn't know about that...and I think it's unlikely Imelda does. They have actually done some recording for an ad but that wasn't it. I will look into it right now!

I don't know if it makes any difference (probably not) but the advert is run on BBC1 for CBBC so it's not commercial in the sense that it's selling a dvd or anything. I have no idea what the deal is with music getting used for that sort of thing... Could they maybe just need permission from the record company?

Anyway, just had a look at the Paul Jones photos (will listen later!)... Some good t-shirts being worn there!

Hmmm ... could be good publicity though? Ad music does tend to get into peoples' heads ver quickly ...
