Thank You Candybox, and goodnight x
What can I say, you did it, another fabulous night, I had a ball. The atmosphere was amazing. The beautiful Missy Malone was breathtaking, and Kitten on the Keys had me crying laughing once again. I;'m gonna miss these shows so much!! Thank you so much to Al and Saffron for introducing us to the wonder that is Imelda May, her CD's are constantly played in my house, and great acts such as Red Sarah and Cassanova, Lily Dumont, the aforementioned Missy Malone and Kitten on the Keys, Mysti Vine, the Great Voltini, Beatrix Von Bourbon, Doris Latrine, and not forgetting The Candied Heels to name but a few
I hope it's not goodbye forever, you guys are amazing, all the hard work that must go into each show. I hope you enjoy your rest, but you will be sorely missed.
My computer's being an a*se so I'm gonna leave it at that, but goodnight and sweet candy dreams

Well... likewise, really. It was an absolute triumph, as always. Aside from the superb acts, there is always an atmosphere as if you were among friends, and last night was no exception.
Have a good rest, hope to see you all again sometime next year.

What a night!
Certainly to my mind one of the best Candy Box's ever and it is to Al and Saffron's credit that they pulled off yet another barnstormer of a show!
Everyone was superb, from Palookaville with added String quartet, Missy Malone, Chocolat, Kitten on the Keys, Sugar Kane, Mimi LeMeaux,The Candied Heels, The Man in Black and of course songtress extrodinare Imelda May, thy all pulled out the stops and made a great night out!
I sat there with my girlfriend Bek and my good friend Hannah who have been my companions on many a Candy Box and looking around it was just amazing. A Year ago I knew nothing of Burlesque and came to this show alone. Now I was there as a regular and I knew many of the people and performers there. I felt that I was part of an extended family that came to have a final shindig and it was just a sheer pleasure to be there!
Was finally nice to chat to the likes of Beatrix Von Bourbon and Al himself at last, where to the amusement of my girlfriend I dashed around the place chatting to as many as I could and networking here and there.
A podcaster's work is never done eh?
The feeling throughout the night was of joy and yet sadness as this is the end of the Candy Box as a regular club however I know that they will be back and I will be there wherever it shall be!
I want (more) Candy!!!

Ah, parting is such sweet sorrow...
I can only echo the words of those before me (including my good friend DG- thankyou, dear!). What a wonderful finale.
I think others and myself felt that the last Candybox, A Night To Dismember, while a lot of fun and with excellent performances, lacked a little of the lustre of previous shows. We could see that time constraints and the stresses of life were beginning to take a slight toll on the candybox crew, and that perhaps they might have been a touch intimidated at the prospect of following Yankee Doodle Candy with something equally impressive.
But last night, everyone pulled out all the stops. Beyond top form, i think everyone surpassed themselves. The string quartet added something really special to the mood, everyone was having a really fantastic time, the performances were extra special, and i think we could all see how much it meant to Al and Saffron to have the reaction from the audience that they did. It was quite an emotional time.
I am pleased and proud to have met so many wonderful performers and fellow burlesque-lovers over the last year, and i really have had some of the best nights out of my life at Candybox!
Long may it continue....
(after you've all had a rest!)
:twothumbs:

Truly fantastic. I had an amzing night and it was lovely to be able to just relax and chat with everyone. Plus I actually got to see the show from beginning to end and appreciate its full impact. It's just the greatest. It will be sorely missed. x

A huuuge thankyou to everyone involved including the incredible audience that were as much part of the show as the performers, what an emotionally charged evening!!! It meant a lot for us to finish on such a high note.
We will be back sometime next year X
Violet is actually at the moment working as Dame Edna Everage's personal dresser ( anyone that knows my lovely wife, can you imagine how excited she is!)so i'm sure she'll post a much better thankyou message on here when she gets chance x

Dame Edna? Hahaha, brilliant!
Unfortunately I missed the last two Candy Boxes, but I can certainly say that I really enjoyed all the ones I've been to. I appreciate how much work it must be to put on the shows as often as you have. So hats off to you all!
(and when I say "hats off" I of course mean in a sweeping OTT stylee!)

Kitten on the Keys rocked my world once more, and I enjoyed Misy Malones act also. Those are the two highlights of the night (along with being told to sh*toff by Al for heckling him
).
I'm glad that The Candy Box will return at some point in the future, but I appreciate how difficult it must have been to run a successful Burlesque night at the same time as balancing the duties of parenting a young child and work. I hope that Al and Violet will return to promote another nght of Burlesque perfection when they want to and have the time and space to make it special.
Cheers guys. With some luck I'll see you both again at Chunky Chords some Sunday.
