    tbh even ant and dec can se this isnt real burlesque. the thing that worries me more is when peopleforce their young kids into things like this :warn:

    Yes, Dec defends burlesque in this article Nice to see that the myth, that burlesque and stripping are equivalent, is not persisting in all circles!

    Hooray! I read that article thinking it was going to be all bad, but if Ant and Dec are telling the nation 'this isn't burlesque, it's stripping*' then that has to be a good thing.

    It might get people discussing what burlesque actually is then and perhaps finding local shows** to find out more.

    I'm sure all the vegan burlesquers are thrilled to find out it's all feathers.

    (*NOT that there is ANYTHING wrong with stripping, before anyone gets on their high swaroski bejewelled horses mind you)

    (**unless local shows are like a local pub who suddenly advertised on the radio yesterday that they were holding open-burlesque auditions that evening, great way to make money out of aspiring young ladies, because you can knock up a decent burlesque routine in an afternoon anyway. It does peeve me that punters going to the pub now think that what is burlesque is, rant over)
