    Default Music editing

Hello my lovlies! I'm looking for some help with music editing. I'm not exactly the brightest crayon in the box when it comes to technical stuff so I was wondering if there are any idiotproof ways of editing music or if anyone had any tips? I've got to cut about 50 seconds off my music for my LBF routine and I need to make sure the cd will play so any suggestions will be gratefully recieved. Thanks!

Try downloading Wavepad- the free version's all you need and there doesn't seem to be any kind of time limit on it...you can cut bits out, take pops and crackles out, fade bits and all sorts! I found it idiot-proof, and believe me, I *need* idiot-proof....

    Hello you!

Have you just got to cut 50 seconds off an end of the track, or do you need to cut bits out of the middle to make it a certain length?

Cropping the ends off to make it shorter is easy and you CAN DO IT

You need to download a free piece of software called audacity (there are lots of others, but audacity is about easiest to use for beginners) - Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder

Where's your track? Is it on a cd you've bought, or is it a download.....and if a download is it an MP3 or is it on iTunes? You need to get it as an MP3 file onto your computer. I could go through the various ways of doing this - but it would make this post enormous - so let me know how you have the track at the mo and I'll talk you through how you get it into audacity to edit it (which again is easy)

As I say, cropping off the ends of tracks are easy (you highlight section and press the delete button) but if you need to edit bits out of tracks it takes a bit more practice, trial and error to get it to still sounding seamless.

If all fails, I'll do it for you - but it makes sense to learn how to do this for yourself, as it's a good thing to know you can do for future routines.
