Thread: 3 Strippers....

I did a private party a couple of months ago with another performer and the first two acts we did were fine but then the promoter asked if we would wait an hour before we did the next two. Big mistake they got really drunk in that hour and it was the girls who got bad and started walking accross the stage while we were trying to perform, pushing into us and trying to get into the area we were changing. i just got my mate and packed up and left as soon as possible. I think its harder when you are working with someone who does not know what burlesque is and how the performers need support.
Makes me very cross now I make sure I sit down and talk this over with the promoter first.

At a show i did the other week (a non-burly specific night)the organiser got up and thanked everyone, when she got to me she said 'Emerald Ace, our stripper' and then a ladies voice shouted from the audience 'she's not a stripper, she's a burlesque dancer!'... i was backstage and couldn't stop laughing...
Even better than that though, i met the Puppini Sisters when they performed at the Pitty Patt Club last year and one of them told me that early on in their career a compere had to be reminded of the group's name. She obviously misheard because she went out on stage and introduced 'The Penis Sisters'!!!!!

Needless to say. I was NOT happy. Fayette Actually Refers to me as sex worker now. Lovley type of nickname..... I was mortified. Especially as my Mum was considering appearing.

On the bright side, at least you were referred to as 'Manchesters finest' - could have been worse ;-)

lol I guess so. I wasnt very happy at the time though to be honest, as im sure you can imagine!!
