The New Year Resolutions Thread!
Dunno why people choose New Yearto make life changing decisions, but I thought it would be interesting to hear what these things are.
My only resolution is to try to get to bed earlier!WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Somehow I think snowballs have a better chance of lasting in the firey depths of Hell - but it would be a fine thing if you did actually get enough sleep. Having said that, science has supposedly discovered that the less you sleep the longer you live; perhaps we should all take bets on how far past 100 you live, thought we may have to give our betting slips to our grandchildren!
For 2008 my New Years Resolutions are:
Attend at least one High Tease event, and get to meet Kittie and James, even if it's in the confines of the dangerous Buddies Diner.
Continue to watch the two current qualty Burlesque shows in Brum.
Twist the arms of more promoters to bring their visisons of Burlesque to Brum.
Not have so many flus in Xmas 2008 (bah humbug).
To run that charity event Angel and I are talking about.
To actually be in the audience when my wife is performing on stage, and for her to have not blown her knee out beforehand.

i don't make new years resolutions - i just set goals as and when.
it makes me laugh when i see the gym i go to, for example, bulge with newbies in january in their frenzied 'new regime' and then by the end of february they've generally vanished!
from that observation i have come to the conclusion that it's daft for people to think that a new year will make a new person/lifestyle/whatever.

Same resolutions I've had for the last few months really:
Get my body into a decent shape (I managed to acheive my goal of putting on weight last year, the first stone was fine but the second stone sent me a bit too wobbly for my liking, so I need some toning - plus for a perenially skinny girl I'm grossly unfit and I'd like some stamina!)
Sort out my house and actually find some storage space
Practise my burlesque routines more because I feel like I could be a really good performer if I put in more hard work
Get more experience on the burly front so I can make it more a part of my life and not just a hobby
I'm sure there are more but I come up with new ones every day!

Ooh I've got a huge list this year, both personal and professional.
Personal
1. Get back down to a size 12
2. Convince my doctor to give me a boob reduction so I look less like an IKEA shelving unit in a corset.
3. Learn some basic burlesque and gain some confidence in myself to be able to maybe one day perform.
4. Get my hair back to blonde!
5. Stop munching crisps like the world's about to end.
6. Learn that Ebay is not a necessity.
Business
1. Get the finances together to buy my pub instead of renting.
2. Book more events in and make a financial success of the pub.
3. Bring burlesque properly to Hull and gain a good reputation for performances.
4. Bring more reputable bands to my pub to increase the profile.
5. Encourage my staff to be as passionate about our pub as I am!
6. Actually use my filing cabinet for filing stuff rather than just for Ebay packaging.
I know I'll probably fail at most of them but the more I have, the more chance I've got of doing well at some of them!

Dammit girl, that is the worst reason I've heard for having a boob reduction! You lok fab in a corset and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Spare a thought for us lesser-endowed girls who find that their corsets merely squash down any boob they have, making them look like an ironing board ...
However, if the weight is doing your back in, or there are other practical reasons, then I say go for it
According to the Boots advert, you're more likely to succeed if you concentrate on one thing at once. But how many girls ever did that? ^_^

i plan to get well and put this whole heart thing behind me.
Keep up my three times a week gym thing.
Sort out my finances so I can buy a house with my fella
Go to more burlesque events.

I've done really well with my resolutions the last few years, probably because I've picked quite general things like:
Wear more make up (as opposed to none) on a day to day basis
Make an effort to stay in touch with disperate friends
So this year I think it's gong to be:
1) Make an effort with my damn hair! I tend to rely on wigs so I usually have terrible roots, and am a total spas when it comes to styling my own hair.
2) Learn how to use false eyelashes! I'm sick of being the only girl who can't use the bloddy things.
True they ain't huge and life changing, but Rome wasn't built in a day and all that...Good luck to my fellow resolutioners!
