JOE BLACK -
The neo-vaudevillian, the real life Disney villain,
the gin-addled courtesan, the anti-christ of cabaret and the one and only waltzing cynic…
Eccentric to international stages, Joe Black takes to shows in an almost cartoon-esque musical assault,
sweeping the audience through deathly showtunes, stomping polkas and heart wrenching ballads.
Though seemingly unable to fit into any particular category, Joe Black has shared a stage with many notable names from different stretches of performance,
musical acts such as Amy Winehouse, Gary Numan, My Bloody Valentine, St Vincent, Noah And The Whale, Hadouken and Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly
and those, of a more performance art and cabaret nature, such as Empress Stah, Dusty Limits, Anna Fur Laxis, Beatrix Von Bourbon, Vicky Butterfly, Scottee, Des O’Connor and many more.
With a huge array of events, such as Torture Garden, Bestival, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and so many more under his belt…
Mister Joe Black (armed with an accordion, a piano, and a voice with force like no other),
Is ready to give you a show, that years of therapy couldn’t even help you forget.
We’re very concerned…

BIRDEATSBABY -
"Driven by their refusal to be ignored, and the desire to break away from current musical trends, Birdeatsbaby form a sound impossible to pigeon-hole. Yet they strike a chord with Cabaret lovers, classical enthusiasts, and a range of alternative rock types. Despite the niche that they so often find themselves in, the band have managed to draw audiences from all walks of life and musical tastes, sucked in by the blunt and often shocking lyrics, haunting and heart-breaking melodies and the sheer pomposity of it all.
Entitled Here She Comes a Tumblin’, Birdeatsbaby’s first studio album is a blend of Weimar Cabaret, Baroque Classical and Melodic Rock – a collection of songs that touch on the subject of feminine innocence and sadness; thoughts and muses on failed relationships; and accusing outbursts of betrayal. However, few will say that this album is depressing or introverted, but instead embraces true cabaret style by observing these topics with a sardonic and tongue-in-cheek attitude, keeping the listener ever guessing at the song meanings."

Lots of luck Joe! If I can persuade someone to bring me to Portsmouth, I will. Why aren't you playing in Southampton?!
For people reading this that haven't seen Joe perform, please do! Such a great and talented man.

Aw, if this was in Liverpool I'd definitely come along, but after Hellfest in France and another trip to Manchester for Comus I doubt my pennies will stretch that far...hopefully next time, then!

Go Joe !!!
-
I listened to Joe's music for the first time properly last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.
However, can I just say that it's certainly not the type of thing to leave playing as you drift off to sleep. I woke up from what can only be described as a Kafkaesque romp through a Tim Burton styled world of nightmarishly grotesque characters.
Even more strangely, the arch villain in my dream was a sort of Gordon Brown mixed with the mayor from The Nightmare Before Christmas type character and he had angered the proletariat by outlawing the body-popping dance style known as the 'Electric Boogaloo'.
Joe - you have a new fan (except for when I'm asleep)!

i'm very excited for this tour,
