    Default Burlesque and Drag Queens

    Hi there,

So, there's some fabulous drag queens out there. I want to start my own show and I'd love to use a drag queen for a host. Do you think the two can co-exist and also open up burlesque to the gay community?

the gay scene is a big part of the burlesque/cabaret scene
a huge part of the male population in burlesque and cabaret are gay
it's just the nature of the entertainment i suppose

I put on a Burlesque Revue at Rubyz in Bournemouth on the last Sunday of the month and I use Dame Kitty Glitter to host it every time - she is amazing and works with the Burlesque performances fantastically!!!

Don't forget Drag KINGS! I would love to have a drag king party and dress up as a dapper young man. There must be male impersonators out there too.

Yes indeed - burlesque was largely made popular first time round, because of 'breeches parts'

I've performed and attended quite a couple of shows with Drag hosts & hostess. Always thought it worked really well. x
