Burly group photoshoot in Northampton - checking out interest
At the moment this thread is to check out whether there is any inrerest in this before I take the organisation forward.
The basic idea/plan is that we hire a music/performance venue in Northampton (I hear that the venue photographer is a nice chap
) do a basic portfolio/non-commercial group shoot style event in the afternoon with some sort of dance card system so that everyone gets to work with a decent variety of people and with model's levels clearly agreed upfront.
Then in the evening put on a bit of a show (for the models that also perform) which we can also sell tickets for (hopefully to keep the costs down a bit). There would be a large photo pit for photographers to shoot performance style images. I already have a master of ceremonies sorted out!
I'm just trying to work out the economics at the moment. I would however anticipate a part fee/part pic deal for the performing acts.
I hope that all makes sense!
Obviously any interest is dependant on date/costWARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

I ran a similar event at the end of September last year which went well. Found it easier to work on a totally no fee basis, including costumes, and make-up, but I was lucky in that the venue agreed to let us have it for free too. We're hoping to hold the next shoot in Spring-time and will need to get going soon on the whole organisation process again! argh! I had no experience prior and it still went well, if a little mad, so I'm sure you'll do well

In our case we offered the venue photos. Either from the shoot, or of the venue itself. Depending on what they have this could go down well
Always happy to pass on experience :-) limited as it may be

Aww thank you my love. I can't wait either. In fact I've just finally managed to rip all the background video camera stuff off the camcorder. Have squished it all down to 7.5 minutes and even managed to put a song on. Its saving at the moment (apparently this is a long process?) so will post it up on youtube later as a private clip. Everyone will need to have a youtube id and I add you all to my friends or something so you can see it. I'm off to investigate properly...

ooh the Burly co op pics look good. I remember Pamperd mentioning the shoot last time I saw her.
I'm afraid I am unavailable for the shoot in Northampton but good luck to all who join in the fun!
ooh, for those interested in getting some burly pics done, might I recommend Tim Rosier? He's fab to work with and his style is perfect for burlesque.
