I was doing costume design but walked before the end of last year as there was alot of favouritism going on in the class, also my tutor called me a stripper to another class and was apparently 'disgusted' with my pics even though I was always introduced as 'this is the burlesque dancer' to anyone.....anywya I digress, I got fed up of the 2 faced ness and got out before it drove me nuts - now I make pasties and fascinators as an inbetween while figuring out what I wanted to do

phew, sorry for the mini rant/essay lol xx

OMG... your tutor is a twat!!! Why dont you study costumery somewhere else? You shouldn't let nastiness put you off track. 99% of bitchyness comes from jelousy, so you should take it as a complement How long did you have left on your course?

I've been thinking about going back to uni, I have a degree in textiles and fashion but i quite fancy studing costume design, altho im scared it might be quite repeditive as I'm pretty confedent with patterns and design. If you ever want any help with costumes or anything give me a shout, i have a fully equipt sewing room in my house!

I have always fancied make up artistry too... if you ever need anyone to practice on I volenteer myself

    Stage Make Up:

Now is amazingly diffrent than your everyday wear, This is not alittle of this and that. You have to make your face stand out, Not like a drag queen but if you do study them they do have afew tricks.

FAKE EYELASHES: They pop your eyes out

    Black Eyeliner: Opens your eyes

Full Lash Mascara: It helps the lashes look real an fuller. (keeps them in place)

    Blush: Contures your face shape

Lip Stick: RED!!! pops out your face

    This are the basics,
Look at your face and figure out how much of stament you want to make with it, Your dance and outfit must be amazing but bad make up can make it go bad quick.

Im going to post links later today to pictures so you guys can see

here is an example of my make up

Define your eyes, Eyelashes and black shadow with liner top liquid and bottom same as above.

    Face-
1-.Paula Dorf- Eye Primer (Key Thing here makes you make up stay longer and brighter)
2-.Maybelline New York- Mineral Powder natural perfecting concelar
3-.Maybelline New York- Dream Matte Mousse Foundation
4-.Maybelline New York- Mineral Powder Finishing Veil Translucent Loose Poweder
    Instructions for face:

Apply the face hydrating cream *if your face is dry*
Apply the eye primer on the top of your lids a little bit goes a long way, Then under your eyes a bit.
Then place the concelar under your eyes and cheek bones it will work as a enhancer and cover up.
Then the Matte foundation mousse *make sure you do your neck line* Remove the excess with a tissue making sure you did not apply to much*
Apply the finishing powder veil for perfection with a powder brush this makes it even make sure the neck line is done.
    ALITTLE GOES A LONG WAY!!

    EYE BROWS:
If have natural brows follow your natural shape, Place some clear mascara to control the hair. then apply powder color with an angle brush.
    powder a bit and DONE!!
Make them look natural closer to your hair.

    EYES:
Apply A white on the brow bone and bottom lid, Dust it aka with your shadow brush blend it in.. BLEND BLEND **Secret
Paula Dorf- Eye color Twilight aka Black solid or for fun some glittery black.
Kat Von D From Sephora.com - Black Metal is alittle bit shimmery i like it beacuse it stays and its dramatic.*this is liquid eyeliner*
You can apply it with the thin brush or and angle brush to the eyelash top line then to a little wing in the end.
with your angle brush or Cotton Q-Tip apply some shadow to the bottom of you eye.. the eyelash bottom *not inside the eyes!!* OUT SIDE
Apply lashes or mascara a healthy amount to make them POP!
Dior Show Black or Lash Blast Lengh.

    Cheek Bones:
Blush Subtil Poweder Blush by Lancome Sheer Amourose.. Smile a little and apply to the cheek bone up then blend with powder brush.
is to much blend it in it will help ALOT BLEND!!!

    Lips-
N.Y.C New York Colors - 308B Retro Red or any red that is a slight blend of orage remove excess then PRESTO!!!

Keep lip stick to reapply before performace, ALWAYS check your make up before you go up on stage. fix if needed!

There you go hope it work out and you like it.. Play with it before your show.. Practice makes perfect!!

    lov
