Thread: I'm gonna rouge my knees and roll my stockings down...

Hello!

I'm on a 1920s bender at the moment, but I'm having difficulty with one thing: how does one managed to keep rolled-down stockings in their correct place? I thought garters would do the trick, but they seem to just slip down as soon as I start walking anywhere. I tried bits of ribbon too, but this necessitated an awful lot of re-doing of bows, and I felt a bit like I might cut off my circulation!

What's the solution?

p.s. the fashionable place to roll them down to is just above the knee, right?

I've seen many US-based performers roll down their stocking tops so that they support and lift the buttocks. I think some performers use cut-off fishnet tights for this purpose.

But as to how they stay in place, no idea I'm afraid! I think maybe avoiding clingy, elastic stockings in favour of nylon or fishnet might help.

I've been so intrigued that I've messaged Kitten Deville to ask her how she does it, lol. Not sure if I'll get a reply...could be a bit of a 'trade secret'.

Satan's Angel says 'in the day' they cut off danskin tights right at the top of the leg, cut a piece of elastic to size, tie it around your leg and roll the stocking down over it...

Hmmm, elastic... I could try it. Well my usual stockings are stretch nylon, but I've a feeling the same problem as occurred with the ribbon might go on.

Support the buttocks??? Surely they are far too low down for that??

Oh I roll mine down like this...

...or to just above my knee. But it is a nightmare getting them to stay that way!
