Default Where to find tassels for pasties?

    Hi there

I've been making custom pasties for a while now, and would like to start adding tassels to some of my designs. I wondered if anyone had found a good supplier who can provide the tassels ready-made, or whether people generally make their own - and if so, how?

    Any advice much appreciated!

I got mine from the habedashery dept of a fabric shop. They usually have lots of different sizes and colours to choose from

I find that most craft shops and general haberdashery's (eg Boyes) often have plenty of tassels perfect for this. You just need to root around for the perfect ones. They're normally quite reasonable in price too.

Get yourself a bow and tasselmaker. They sell on ebay around 3 pound and come with very clear instrustions. You can make them any colour and any size. My wooden version works great.

This is possibly quite odd but they work really well. We bought the stuff from fabric shops that used to be used to fringe curtains and trim sofas that you can buy by the metre. We roll up a few centimetres and then we have a tassle! Does that make any sense? I hope so because, although a little fiddly, they are cheap and look great.

oooh!! A little bit of cleverness on my part then! It was a random idea as the ready made tassles were quite expensive (A friend and I were making seven pairs in one day).

I just buy some string, wrap it round some card, tie it at the top, cut it at the bottom and hey presto...
