Hello and can i have some help?
Im sick of my wardrobe and have always wanted to be more retro, lots of my clothes are nautical themed, as my wardrobe consists of mainly red, navy and stripes.
My make up is usually minimal with black Amy Winehouse flicks...which i am sick of.
I was just wondering if there are any hints and tips to change my wardrobe/make up/hair in anyway shape or form.
I live near Newcastle, where i live lack vintage shops, and the ones in Newcastle are mainly Indie-ish..unless im looking in the wrong area haha.

Ebay is always good. There are also online shops...big beautiful barbara brown...nikita sablier....what katie did etc.
Reference hair n make up have a look on youtube...there is a good lady called Lisa Freemont Street...she is pretty good at creating loads of different looks.

Thank you for the reply

I have had a browse on a few of those videos. I got my GHDs out to tame my hair and have a go...and they exploded, now i have a loverly singed bit on my hair and head and my hand is burnt. Im not a happy bunny hmn.
My hair (was) shoulder length with a thick full fringe, it was bright red and is now a honeyish blonde with the odd reddy ginger bits here and there where i was unable to get the red completely out. Im really wanting to grow it longer, get it platinum blonde and have a black part in my fringe. Friends have said dye my fringe completely a different colour, but im too scared it would look daft.

Hi,
I feel exactly the same as you at the moment! Really sick of my wardrobe and how I don't look exactly like I wanna look. What I've been doing is slowly buying pieces from all around - e.g. topshop and american apparrel have some amazing playsuits in at the minute, corsets uk have a 3 for 2 deal with extra MOB discount on some properly boned and laced corsets, just picking up things like that.
As far as websites are concerned, recommended to me were vivienne of holloway, stick em up pin up, pin up parade, deadly is the female, retro vixens, tara starlet and miss fortune.
For like a hairstyle and general look and makeup what I've been doing is basically doing as much research into existing pin ups as possible, till i find one I like. There's so many, but a few I like are Micheline Pitt, Doris May Day, Ceri from snarl hair... i would definitely recommend looking on model mayhem, both for ideas for looks and for ways to implement it e.g. finding alternative hairstylists and such like.
Hope this helps!

if your unsure about colouring your fringe, why not try clip in wefts? theres sooo many on ebay, and also when you goto the hair salon you can ask your stylist to cut it for you so it goes with your hair style, its so much easyer than having to deal with a hair dye disaster!!

Thank you Bambi

I am going to bleach my hair and attempt to get it back to platinum blonde again, then decide on my fringe
