Best Black DIY Dye for a Blonde?
Hello Sweethearts!
I've decided to abandon my natural light blonde hair colour in favour of jet black tresses, opting for the DIY option to make keep roots at bay simpler (and cheaper!). However I've noticed that a week in the jet black is fading to have a distinct brownish tone, which I'm not a fan of!
I used Loreal Feria Blackest Black, but I'm hoping someone out there can recommend something that might last a bit longer? Or offer some fade fighting advice? Preferably products I can find the UK!

I'm a big fan of the Schwarzkopf Live XXL range. I used to use them to dye my hair both black and red (not at the same time) and also tried out the dark purple one. They're really vibrant and mine always lasted for a good while. Make sure you're not using an anti-dandruff shampoo like Head & Shoulders as they're known for causing hair dyes to fade quicker.

Yes! Thats what I used to use to dye my hair black when it was black.
Theres two different shades of black in xxl I believe.. actual black and blue black?
I always used blue black so it had blue highlights in the sun, was cool.
Mine never faded i only ever had to have my roots redone

you have to use colour kind shampoo to preserve it, box or salon colouring - anything else (no matter how moisturising or "kind to hair" it is) it will strip the colour (baby shampoo is the worst)

Thanks for the advice my dears! I had actually noticed and considered the Live XXL ones, so I'll give them a shot when I do the next top up.
How blue is the blue-black? I originally tried the Loreal blue-black, and in sunlight it had a VERY distinct dark electric blue look, esp on my virgin baby blone re-growth. Was striking but too blue for me, esp as the day job involves being outside the majority of the time!
