    Default Chap in Distress!

    Morning Ladies and Gents

I need some advice. My partner and i are very new to the whole Burlesque scene, and are off to the Delicious event in Derby at the end of July.

In the evening there is a big show with lots of performers taking part, and a
    "strict dress code"

This is where i need a bit of advice, what should a chap wear to an event like this?

Any advice on a) what i should wear and b) best places to go to get it?

    All help gratefully received

Fear not everyone, we're not expecting you to go out and buy a new wardrobe ! The idea of the evening dress code is to help to create the decadent feel to the event to reflect the quality of everything else thats on offer. As a minimum we are looking for :

    suit/evening wear/formal wear/black tie

any form of appropriate period wear would also be encouraged eg 30's/40's

    rockabilly style or anything alternative/goth

consider this a formal event, rather than an evening down the pub, and dress accordingly and you will be fine.

    Hope this helps !

Haha it's not a massive departure from my regular clothes to be fair - brothel creepers, retro jacket, burlesque / rockabilly themed tee under a kewl shirt etc
