Thanks for your lovely post Viva, I'm glad my designs seem to be getting a largely positive response, it's very encouraging!
Re the size thing, the first pair I created were too small for my particular client so hence the larger size.....
I have tried them against my own assets, and they looked fine (but then I am an 'E' cup!:0))
But yes, I am quite prepared to make them to suit and the price will obviously adjust accordingly.
Thanks everso for your advise, everyone!
Sparkles to you all (Swarovski ones, of course ;0) )

Remember that a pastie is really just a nipple cover : originally invented simply to circumvent indecency laws [ please someone remind me of the name of the American woman who invented them in the late 1940s - I'm having a senior moment, and all I can think of is Clarice Cliff, which smacks more of Lady Gaga than anything else].

Also, that in trad neo-burlesque homaging the American Golden Age the pastie is often the final bit of the reveal, and is worn under the bra. I'm GG, but my nipples sure as hell aren't 4.5" x 5.5"! [ Apologies to all if that was too much information]. Plus the bigger they are, the more shaped they have to be to cover the contours of the breast.

You seem to have the decoration side of things down to a fine art : might be worth doing a bit of market research into the competition, not least in terms of size/style/design, to find your USP.

    Hope this helps.

Well, I'm learning something new everyday!
I really must pop my sparkly specs on and have a proper delve into the Burlesque world.
It's true that my own bits are quite large but I agree, not THAT large and to be fair I did think they seemed a bit too big for the 'tease' factor but I've since had another lady contact me saying the size is just about perfect.....perhaps it's a modesty thing? (Again not completely Au-fait with it all but am sure willing to learn!)
It's great fun to design something so different to my usual stuff.....
Please do keep the little gems of info coming.....it's all VERY helpful as well as enlightening!!! :0)

We are all different - I also wear an E cup, but as my back is only 30" the result is not much to write home about! But I do have a large nip to boob ratio - boob size is no indication of nip size (although even mine aren't 4.5"!). Also, some ladies like to use bigger pasties if it's because they prefer to be a teeny bit more covered, or maybe it suits the overall act. As long as you get a good brief and accurate sizing info from your client, whatever you make, however big or small, will be fabulous ) xx

Offering them custom size seems like a plan too, I know some people like the teeny weeny ones and some like em bigger!

    Thanks for the encouragement ladies!
Having read all of your really useful advise, I now intend to make my designs in two 'standard' sizes, however as all of my work tends to be bespoke anyway I will be offering the option to make-to-size also and cost accordingly so hopefully I will be able to fulfil every clients individual requirements.
I hope to have some new designs to show you all soon, they will all include Swarovski crystals but in varying amounts to reduce the pricetag!
Thanks again for all your help :0)
