    Lightbulb What's it worth?

    Hi sparkle lovers!
just want to run a little question by you all.....
I am just getting into the finer details of Pastie-making and would like an idea as to how much you would be prepared to pay for a handmade pair of entirely Swarovski crystalized pasties/tassels like the peacock ones in my album.....(other views are available on my website)
This pair are about 4 1/2" X 5 1/2" but I could adjust them to suit the wearer along with the cost, of course!
Given the price of the crystals, themselves....I just need to get an idea whether it's all systems go for some sparkly new designs or just too much to create entirely crystalized work?
    Any feedback is greatfully received.
    Thanks in twinkling advance!!!!

They are very beautiful I wouldn’t like to say how much they would be worth but seeing as Ann summers can charge £16 for a not brilliant pair? I would say £25 to £40?

    good luck hun

if it of any interest to you, my website will be up and running in a few weeks for an online vintage and burlesque clothes and accessories I would be happy to put a pic up of them for custom orders once you have decided on a price

Bless you for the feedback Scarlet.
    Hmmmmm,
might have to rethink this whole Swarovski crystalized idea.....the pair I've made uses around 1700 of em (due to the measurement of them, smaller would need less) and a wholesale pack only contains 1440 and costs around £70, thats obviously not including the other materials and any of my time to make and hand-sew them.
Maybe I should just offer them as an option but consentrate on less elaborate styles?
Hope you are still breathing normally?! ;0)

£70 for 1440 seems rather high - where are you getting your crystals from??

    Hi Tigz....
I have been getting them from a couple of suppliers 'Beads & Crystals' and also via 'Crystal-Craft' I only usually buy the clear and AB's in bulk (as I use these more) so consequently smaller amounts work out far more expensive.
I have just sourced another possible supplier....just got to do a bit more research, but PLEASE if anyone has got any other suggestions, I'd be really grateful!
I love working with Swarovski (but can't possibly afford their own minimum order which I'm told is around £10,000!) I would love to pass my own savings on if I can get some help?

    Honest opinion..

I would offer them as an option on less elaborate styles. You will get people who will want you to make big elaborate pieces with them and will be happy to spend the money but then on the other hand (and Im one of these people) I don't see spending the money on something like that when sometimes you can't tell the difference between the higher end crystals and the cheaper ones unless you're up close.

I would pay more to have them added to little bits but in the grander scale of things I'd rather use cheaper ones to cover a large surface area because they can look just as effective when you're on stage.

Your working really does look stunning - big respect!
My only caveat is the size : 4.5" x 5.5" seems awful big for a pastie. I've seen whole bra cups smaller. Reduce the size and you reduce the cost, ergo......
In which case you should probably stick to your Swarovski guns. If you do choose to go with the bigger size, then combining proper crystals with cheaper stones may work.
